A fishing license is required for most public spots for 16 year olds and higher.  A license can be acquired at sporting goods stores.

Although the Pacific Ocean occupies one full side of Orange County, there are many lakes dotted throughout the county, with no shortage of fishing spots to choose.  The county offers seven stocked lakes within regional parks, but real back country fishing is limited to just a few creeks.
