By definition, sanctuaries and preserves are basically the same - protected areas for wildlife, flora, injured or abandoned fauna,
or other special reason. They may also be called refuges, natural reserves or conservation areas.
Within the protected
areas that many worked hard to create, visitors have the opportunity to see the county in its original and pristine condition.
Every year, advancements in protecting the county's natural biological resources mean that we are able to see how beautiful this area
is in its natural state. By giving the native animals and plants the space, nourishment and ability to reproduce, the county's
sanctuaries and nature preserves are adding more to the back country every day.
